A remote and challenging trek, for the more adventurous walker circling Dhaulagiri, the 7th highest Mountain in the world. This magnificent peak rises as a giant shoulder of shining ice and snow.
Dhaulagiri region is rarely visited and the valleys and villages surrounding it are unspoiled and unchanged for generations.
The trail takes us across the Kali Gandaki river and Myagdi Khola to the base camp, we come to the high point of this trek, the traverse of French pass (5360m), the hidden valley and Dhampus Pass (5182m), a high level route. We climb Dhampus (or Dhambus) Peak (6012m) from Dhambus Pass, with base camp at the bottom of the peak. We will chose the best route according to snow conditions. From the summit, you are rewarded with stunning virews to Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, Hidden Valley, Nilgiri, Tilicho and Kali Gandaki valley.
Travel Itinerary
1st Day: Arrival in Kathmandu, meet at the airport and transfer to Hotel
2nd Day: Drive from Kathmandu to Beni (830 m) by bus and stay at Camp
3rd Day: Start trekking and camp at Babiyachaur (970 m)
4th Day: Darbang (1110 m)
5th Day: Sibang (1780 m)
6th Day: Muri (1720 m)
7th Day: Boghara (2080 m)
8th Day: Dobhan Kharka (2520 m)
9th Day: Sallaghari / Chaur Bag (3445 m)
10th Day: Italian Base Camp (3660 m)
11th Day: Japanese Base Camp (3890 m)
12th Day: Dhaulagiri Base Camp (4748 m)
13th Day: Acclimatization day – reserve day
14th Day: Cross French Pass (5360 m), trek to Hidden Valley Camp (5140 m)
15th Day: Thapa Pass (5244 m)
16th Day: Dhampus Peak Base Camp
17th Day: Summit Dhampus Peak (6012m)
18th Day: Yak Kharka (3680 m)
19th Day: Marpha (2670 m)
20th Day: Drive Marpha -Tatopani (1100 m) by Jeep or bus – Enjoy at Hot Spring
21th Day: Drive Tatopani - Pokhara (850 m) by bus or Jeep
22th Day: Pokhara, enjoy the Phewa Lake
23th Day: Drive Pokhara - Kathmandu (1350 m) by tourist bus and Evening farewell dinner
24th Day: Departure to connect next destination or you may extend the trip as per your desire and time permit
