Hidden Valley & Dhampus Peak (6012m)
15 Days Tent Trek in Nepal
Price: $1855 + 390 lei
The Dhaulagiri is 7th highest Mountain in the world. This magnificent peak rises as a giant shoulder of shining ice and snow. Dhaulagiri region is rarely visited and the valleys and villages surrounding, it is unspoiled and unchanged for generations. The trail takes us across the Kali Gandaki river to the Dhampus Pass (5182m) and Dhampus Peak (6012m, 6035/6060m on some maps), a high level route.
Situated in the north east of the giant Dhaulagiri massif, Dhampus Peak — a nontechnical peak — is the only location from where the observer can get a clear view of the two giants over 8,000m, the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. The summit offers extremely close views of Tukuche and Dhaulagiri peaks. As many as thirty different mountains can be seen from the peak top, making it an incomparable Himalayan panorama point.
No experience of climbing, except for acclimatization, is required to scale Dhampus peak. The normal route to the peak summit follows the west ridge. This ridge also links the famous Dhampus Pass (5200m). The High Camp for the peak is erected here, from where climbers heading for the summit. If you want to get an introductory experience of Himalayan mountaineering in a region where a few climbers venture, choose Dhampus Peak.
